a. An Associate’s Degree in a related field
b. Graduate of Bergin College of Canine Studies (BUCS)’ Service Dog Seminar, AS, BS, or MS degree program
c. Equivalent studies in whelping, care, and enrichment
d. Preferred: Registered Veterinary Technician; Certificate in Dogs Helping Veterans

The Paws for Purple Hearts’ Program Associate Program Instructor is required to have met the following specific educational requirements:
a. An Associate Degree or minor in Assistance Dog Education;
b. Certificate in Veterans’ Canine Therapeutic Intervention.
2. Prior experience preferred for this position includes:
a. Two years experience in human services/mental health field;
b. Three years experience in dog training, one of which has been spent with assistance dogs;
c. Work in or a extensive knowledge of the assistance dog field;
d. One year teaching experience;
e. Background in supervision and management.

In support of our mission and in alignment with our values, the Site Manager conducts effective fundraising and general managerial activities to sustain and grow our footprint in their geographic area of responsibility. The Site Manager manages local (at or near their assigned facility) advancement staff and program instructors (dog trainers). The Site Manager reports directly to, and is accountable to, the applicable Regional Director (or, in lieu of a Regional Director, the Chief Executive Officer - CEO). The Site Manager coordinates activities with other staff as appropriate for the ongoing planning and implementation of site activities, based on the guidance and direction of the reporting senior (the Regional Director or CEO in lieu of Regional Director).
