ADI ACCREDITATION OPENS DOORS
Paws for Purple Hearts is dedicated to providing top-tier Service Dogs to Warriors facing mobility challenges and trauma-related conditions. We are extremely proud to hold accreditation from Assistance Dogs International (ADI). Established in 1986, ADI is a globally recognized coalition that sets the industry standard for nonprofit programs involved in the training and placement of Assistance Dogs.
ADI accreditation is a significant accomplishment for any organization working with Assistance Dogs. The accreditation process lasts a minimum of two years, with reevaluations every five years to maintain our status. Assistance Dogs International upholds high-quality standards for the training and placement of Service Dogs, and promotes the well-being of disabled individuals. Our accreditation demonstrates that Paws for Purple Hearts operates in accordance with these standards, ensuring the utmost expertise, ethical conduct, and professionalism.
To maintain ADI accreditation, Paws for Purple Hearts must meet rigorous criteria in areas including dog training, socialization, health care, and client support. Being accredited by Assistance Dogs International offers numerous benefits. Warriors seeking our services can trust that our dogs and programs adhere to the highest standard. Moreover, having ADI status means that their Service Dogs’ approved medical care is covered by VA Veterinary Health Benefits. Accreditation also allows our dogs to travel internationally, as many airlines and countries only permit accredited Service Dogs.
Part of our accreditation involves access to the Assistance Dog International Breeding Cooperative. This cooperative ensures a continual supply of well-bred puppies for training, enabling us to replace graduating dogs and accommodate our organization’s growth. The dogs involved in the breeding cooperative come from a lineage of successful Service Dogs, with a tracked history of good health spanning multiple generations. This cooperative’s expanded breeding pool enhances genetic diversity and the overall health of our dogs.
Thanks to our accreditation by Assistance Dogs International, Warriors can be confident that the dogs they receive have undergone thorough vetting. Make sure to share the word of Paws for Purple Hearts to the Warriors who could benefit from Service Dogs. Those who have selflessly served, deserve exceptional dogs that are healthy, humanely treated, well-matched, well-cared for, and professionally trained to assist with their disabilities.
