We’ve got so much to be thankful for!

 In Events, PPH Blog

There’s no doubt that Paws for Purple Hearts service dogs make an extraordinary impact on the Warriors they are placed with. These smart, attuned, loving animals dedicate their lives to assisting their Warrior battle buddies.

This Thanksgiving, we want to thank all of the wonderful people who dedicate their lives to making it happen. From our training staff to our volunteers to our donors and beyond, this important life-changing work would not be possible without the dedication of a wide variety of people doing their part.

“2020 has been an especially difficult year, but we have so much to be thankful for. With the continued support of our staff, volunteers, and generous donors, Paws for Purple Hearts has continued to provide life-changing service dogs and therapy programs to the brave men and women who serve our country. In a time where everything feels uncertain, we are certainly grateful for the wonderful support.”

Mike Hogan, Chief Advancement Officer.

PPH staff took on the COVID-19 challenge and continued to train high-quality assistance dogs this year. We even had our first-ever virtual graduation ceremony this August and placed two PPH dogs despite the COVID-19 restrictions!

Thank you to all PPH staff members for continuing to serve our brave Warriors throughout this pandemic, a time where our service dogs are needed more than ever.

Thank you, Dedicated Volunteers

Thank you to the wonderful volunteers who have stuck with us through constant changes and updated safety protocols. This year weekend puppy parents became fulltime caretakers for our dogs, in-person volunteers transitioned to remote toymakers and fundraisers, and many new applicants have patiently awaited the opportunity to lend a helping hand.

Even though opportunities to help at our training centers have been limited, our network of virtual volunteers has grown tremendously. Thank you for staying connected with us on social media and checking in with the PPH location nearest you.

Thank you, Donors

Now more than ever, our Warriors need the love and support of PPH dogs, and we especially appreciate contributions made during this uncertain but critical time. Paws for Purple Hearts depends on generous individuals like you to continue our mission and provide free service dogs to Veterans and Service Members in need.  We are so lucky to have such an incredible support system that contributes to positively impacting our nation’s Warriors.

From all of us at PPH, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
