USO and PPH
New Developments in the Southeast Region
At Paws for Purple Hearts, we work to build partnerships with different organizations who share our focus of helping this nation’s Veterans and Active Duty Service Members. One of these great organizations is the USO. From their website:
“The USO strengthens America’s military Service Members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation.”

Working with the USO
We currently work in conjunction with the USO bringing our service dogs in training to their sites to provide social therapy. In our Southeast Region, we bring dogs to the USO at the Richmond International Airport. The weekly visits are met with smiles from all the Service Members who are travelling to other destinations! Our dogs in turn get to smile for all the love they receive.

Fort Belvoir
In new developments, we have begun bringing dogs to the USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir. Our staff and dogs are excited to begin Canine Assisted Warrior Therapy sessions there soon. To keep up with these great efforts, check the Virginia team’s Facebook page!
Help Fund the Pups
As we expand to new programs, we need your help!

Volunteer
Our program would not be possible without the dedicated volunteers we have! Have you checked out the volunteer opportunities at a site near you? How does becoming a Puppy Parent for a future service dog sound? Even our General Volunteers get to partake in the puppy love whether it be monitoring puppy playtime or assisting with other work around the facilities.

Donate
A monetary donation will help further our program but did you know we are eligible to receive a percentage of your purchase on Amazon? Check out the Amazon Smile program and select Paws for Purple Hearts as your organization!
