The Time to Honor Our Furry Friends
The month of September is the time to honor and celebrate Service Dogs all over the world for the work they do to better humanity. It is a selfless act that allows these animals to devote their lives to aiding us and providing such security in our lives. Without their love and companionship, we would not have accomplished so much in terms of research, training, and understanding.
These dogs perform such a wide range of tasks across the globe, not just within our own organization. From medical alert dogs to scent detection working dogs, it is hard to imagine a life without them in it.
Within our own institution, we want to honor our previous and upcoming graduate dogs and thank them for their hard work and service! Over the years, we have graduated over 100 dogs to clients around the country. These dogs have served an array of unique individuals whose lives were all drastically different from one another, but all had one thing in common, service in the military. These clients’ lives were forever changed by Service Dogs and we couldn’t be more honored to recognize them today along with the dogs they graduated with.
We don’t want to just recognize those dogs who have previously graduated, but also all of our dogs in training within the program that have offered love and understanding through our Canine Assisted Warrior Therapy®. These sessions have helped to provide free therapy to over 15,000 different Warriors, so let’s give a big shoutout to our amazing canines that have been able to provide that to them.
It is hard to imagine a time before Service Dogs, but as we continue to progress into the future of what can and will be, there is more hope than ever before as to what these animals can accomplish. So, thank you to every single Service Dog out there for all that you do to better the lives of everyone.
