It was a Doggone Good Thanksgiving!

 In General, PPH Menlo Park

We have so many reasons to be thankful. As one of the foremost charities that help Veterans, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, we would like to express our gratitude to the many individuals that have allowed us to positively impact thousands of Warriors-in-need.

Thankful for our Service Dogs in Training

Dogs are the key to happiness. Have you ever pet a dog and didn’t feel some kind of joy afterwards? They give us a sense of purpose and unconditional love. They help us through our hard times without even requiring a thank you. We are extremely grateful for their patience and their willingness to do anything for treats. Our service dogs in training have helped in the recovery process of Warriors with PTSD, TBI and MST by using Canine Assisted Warrior Therapy ®. When Warriors help with the service dog training it allows Warriors to regain their trust, connect with others and become themselves again

Thankful for our Volunteers

At Menlo Park PPH, we are thankful for our puppy parents that took care of our dogs during the long Thanksgiving weekend. Puppy parents are a constant in our dog’s lives. They have a warm bed to go home to, arms to cuddle in and treats to go in their bellies. We couldn’t do it without their dedication and support!

PPH Puppy Parents are vital to the development of a service dog. They are generous, dedicated and committed to help shape a service dog for a Veteran or Service Member in need. If you are interested in being a puppy parent you can visit our website and fill out an application.

Thankful for our Donors

More than 95% of our funding comes from individuals and organizations. It costs approximately $35,000 to raise and train one of our top-of-the-line service dogs. This includes veterinary expenses, food and treats, training expenses, etc. We would like to thank all of our supporters who have donated to Paws for Purple Hearts. Your donations support our mission and give our nation’s Veterans and Service Members new hope.

Give to Those who Gave

Paws for Purple Hearts is participating in Giving Tuesday on Dec. 3!

Giving Tuesday is a movement to create an international day of charitable giving at the beginning of the holiday season. It encourages people to do good and show support for an issue or someone that they care about.

Facebook is matching up to $7 million in eligible donations made on Facebook starting at 5 a.m. (PST). Imagine if all of our followers gave $10 – that would fund a dog’s journey from start to finish! But most importantly you would be impacting hundreds of Warriors! So, check out the #GivingTuesday Fundraiser on our Menlo Park Facebook page or start your own fundraiser on Dec. 3 and help a Warrior-in-need!

If you don’t have a Facebook. Don’t worry! There are other ways to give and help support our service dogs in training and Warriors. You can donate from our website directly, send or drop off a check or cash to our facility, or text “purplepaws” to 707070.
