Help me raise funds to provide free service dogs and canine-assisted therapy programs to America’s Warriors

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Did you know that up to 20% of Veterans who served in Operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom suffer from PTSD in a given year? Did you know that the presence of a well-trained service dog can dramatically decrease the severity of post-traumatic stress, provide intervention during night terrors or anxiety attacks, and promote healing? That’s why I support Paws for Purple Hearts, a nonprofit that combines two of my favorite things – dogs and giving back to our nation’s Veterans.
Every day, I get to go to work, and I’m greeted by an amazing group of future service dogs that instantly put a smile on my face. But I’m not the only one benefitting from these pups. I have witnessed firsthand the wonderful, positive impact that our service dogs-in-training have on Veterans’ wellbeing. From picking up keys to turning on lights to providing a calming touch during an anxiety attack, PPH dogs have an extraordinarily positive impact on the lives of those they serve.
Meet Schatzie, my favorite future service dog! Your donation will help her on her journey to becoming a Warrior’s battle buddy.
Paws for Purple Hearts
At Paws for Purple Hearts, we are dedicated to improving the lives of America’s Warriors facing mobility challenges and trauma-related conditions such as PTSD and TBI by providing the highest quality assistance dogs and canine assisted therapeutic programs. Our motto, “Warriors Helping Warriors®” summarizes our dedication to providing opportunities for Veterans and Service Members to prepare lifelong service companions for their comrades in need. Through PPH’s innovative therapeutic programs, America’s wounded heroes get first-hand experience working with, handling, caring for and training service dogs. Integrated into their mental health treatment plan, these life-saving programs benefit both the Warrior and their comrades. Every PPH dog-in-training helps 40-60 Warriors.
Warriors like Duncan find healing through helping when they train PPH service dogs for their fellow wounded comrades.
