“to connect Service Members with family, home and country throughout their service to our nation”.
The Paws for Purple Hearts (PPH) mission
“We are dedicated to improving the lives of America’s Warriors facing mobility challenges and trauma related conditions such as PTSD and TBI by providing the highest quality service dogs and canine assisted therapeutic programs”.
The PPH motto is Warriors Helping Warriors®—a motto which stands for the way our Veterans and Service Members care for each other. The mentality of ‘no man left behind’ is a way of life that many Service Members embrace after their departure from the military. That credo inspires us as we accomplish our mission. It would make sense then, that PPH’s Northwest Region team, headquartered in Fairbanks, AK and the USO Alaska team have joined forces to better serve our Veterans and Service Members— truly Warriors Helping Warriors®.
Every week, the USO welcomes us to their location so we can provide social therapy using our Service Dogs in Training. This form of animal therapy is proven to reduce stress, help participants develop trust, and can improve social skills. USO Volunteer Jessica explains that, “there’s no love like puppy love”.

If you are a Veteran or active duty Service Member interested in applying for a service dog through our organization, please consider filling out an application. All of our services (and service dogs) are provided at no cost to our past and present military family.
If you are a Veteran or Service Member that would like to participate in Canine Assisted Warrior Therapy, please consider filling out an application. This therapy is provided at no cost and the work you do in the training sessions helps a future Veteran or Service Member come closer to being united with their Forever Battle Buddy.
